Le Cirque
This piece was made later, after Katrina was made to go along as a complimentary piece. This abstract piece contains "fabulous color theory and use of color" as Muramasa says! This painting has reds, blues, gold’s, silver, and neon pink, orange, and yellow. It started off with Turquoise and Purples over the black, and then I built the other colors onto those. This one feels like an underwater themed piece which is no surprise with me. This piece really reminded me of the days when my parents would take me to see Cirque Du Soleil in Santa Monica whenever it came to town. The outlandish outfits remind me of the color combinations I used here... and the long blue strands running through the back remind me of the long pieces of material the performers would wear while gracefully performing, hence the name is Le Cirque. The original is Mixed Media. Metallic Foil is used to make the round balls dancing around like the sun “Soleil” in French.
I used Tissue Paper, Cloth, and Acrylic paint. Glicee Prints Signed and Numbered
